Pilot Federation of PTAs Training at Zapatera Elementary School

Project YUNIT successfully concluded its Train the Trainers program for the PTA Training Course by the Federation of PTAs last July 9, 2022, at Zapatera Elementary School, Cebu City.

The training session was attended by the pilot batch of volunteer trainers composed of Division and District PTA officers from the island of Cebu. Representatives from Cebu City include Abellana National School, City Central School, Pit-os National High School, Zapatera Elementary School, and Zapatera National High School. From Cebu Province included representatives from Almacen-Torevillas National High School in Medellín, Ronda Central Elementary School in Ronda, Sibonga National High School in Sibonga, Talisay Elementary School in Santander, and Liloan Central School in Liloan.

Also gracing the event was the National PTA Philippines President and YUNIT Steering Committee Vice-President, Mr. Willy Rodriguez. Trainers were being taught the skills in delivering key areas such as Skills Building, Capacity Building, Clientele Care, Cash Mobilization, and Gender and Inclusion.

The trainers who facilitated this training were Mr. Kenneth Bernejay Porio, IT Admin and Support; Ms. Kezia Ganton, Social Worker of the Carreta and Alegría programs, and; Ms. Joyce Lapatha, Training and Development Manager. Also facilitating the training were Mr. Allan Christian Obispo, IT Director and Project YUNIT Manager, and Ms. Barbie Romeo-Guardiario, Deputy Country Director.

The volunteers are expected to carry out their duties to train school PTA officers on the different key areas delivered in the training in the future.
