Position: Social Worker
Status: Regular full-time
Schedule: Tuesdays – Saturdays (9 AM to 6 PM)
Location: Cebu City
Salary: Php 16,000.00 to Php 18,000.00
Status: Project-based contract with probationary period of 6 months
Job Goal:
The Social Worker will take charge of Children of Asia student-beneficiaries, studying in various academic levels from elementary to college, ensuring that they get the support they need in order to complete their studies.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The Social Worker will work under the supervision of the Programs Coordinator of Children of Asia Philippines and works with fellow social workers, the Training Center and Administration.
Main Responsibilities:
1) Case management process: collect data and background information on every beneficiary through social investigation with home and family visits and interviews;
2) Program implementation: Work on the selection of new beneficiaries for Children of Asia’s programs in Cebu city (Community program) through a thorough screening of the applicants
3) Students follow-up and monitoring (face-to-face and on-line): update case profiles, conduct regular interviews with the students, organize monthly meetings with the students, provide help and counselling when needed;
4) Family follow-up (Face-to-face and online): ensure that students are supported by their families through regular house visits, family visits and interviews, counselling with families and students to prevent or solve any issue, organize monthly parents’ meetings and parents’ awareness-raising seminars;
5) School follow-up: school visits on a monthly basis, collect data and communicate with teachers to prevent or solve any issue;
6) Activity and events: Participate in the organization of activities for the beneficiaries under the Social Worker’s responsibility
7) Facilitate all reports/ documents with DSWD, DepEd, CCTFSC, Other tasks requested by Management for the implementation of the program.
We are looking for someone with the following profile:
Profession: REGISTERED Social Worker
Language: Excellent knowledge of English (verbal and written) and Visaya
Experience: Minimum of 1 year confirmed experience in Social Work handling children and youth
Skills:
– Strong oral and written communication skills
– Strong planning, analytical and organizational skills
– Leadership skills
– Willing to take up challenges
– Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and people of different cultural backgrounds
– Self-starter, ability to work autonomously and take initiatives as well as to work as part of a team
– Excellent knowledge of Internet and Computer literacy (Microsoft office applications: Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
Qualifications:
– Experience in dealing with youngsters, especially those living in slum areas
– Experience in working with disadvantaged children and families and/or in a NGO is a plus
