Focal Person Training 2022: South Programs

The partner schools of Project YUNIT by Children of Asia Philippines are obliged to carry out focal persons who will carry out duties in supporting the project in its three areas of intervention: Information and communications technology, Awareness and sensitization, and Livelihood and micro-business. With this, members of the Parent-Teacher Associations and the Supreme Student Governments of each school are to select the right persons to represent the school in each of the said thematics.

The 2nd year of Focal Person Training (FPT) for Project YUNIT in the South programs was held on November 5-6, 2022 at Madridejos National High School in Alegría, Cebu. Each session was attended by the assigned focal persons from the School PTA (SPTA) and the Supreme Student Government from both Madridejos National High School and Inghoy National High School.

The training aims to:

✔ To equip the participants with the skills needed in becoming an efficient & effective focal person
✔ To understand and conduct the duties and responsibilities of a Focal Person.

The said training was done in separate sessions per thematic, with each focal person given a specific list of topics they were taught on. For the Awareness thematic, they were given a training on Depression and Suicide, Basic Psychological First Aid, and a Train the Trainers immersion session. For the Livelihood and IT thematics, they were both given topics on Participatory Assessment Training, Evaluation, and A Trainer’s Guide to Training. In separate sessions, Livelihood focal persons were taught Project Management Cycle, while IT focal persons were taught Basic Computer and Audio-Visual Equipment Troubleshooting. Finally they were given an overview of their specific duties and responsibilities as focal persons of their respective thematic.

The Project YUNIT team looks forward that the assigned focal persons from the PTA and SSG will be able to carry out their duties as Focal Persons of the project.
