In celebration of International Women’s Month, on March 12, 2023, Children of Asia—Philippines (CoA-PH), in partnership with EQUALS Global Partnership: Her Digital Skills, GSM Alliance (GSMA) – Asia-Pacific Chapter, International Telecommunications Union (ITU) – Asia-Pacific, Women’s WorldWide Web (W4.org), and Verizon, conducted a free workshop about E-Commerce: Using Big Cartel. CoA-PH beneficiaries from different educational programs in Cebu City and Cebu Province, parent beneficiaries of DICE (Diversity, Inclusion, and Children Empowerment) Center in Ermita, and their invites, including friends and relatives were involved in this event. The objective of this workshop is to build an equal next generation in tech together.
Most of the beneficiaries who attended the said workshop gained a lot of knowledge from the facilitator, Mr. Kenneth Porio, IT Admin and Trainer of Project YUNIT, on how to start a business using digital technology, including making their own business page, designing their own product, marketing their product, etc. They also gained knowledge on how really important gender equality is in modern technology.
The workshop was indeed a success, thanks to the partnership with EQUALS, GSMA, W4, ITU, and Verizon, and the efforts of the staff of Children of Asia Philippines. Another EQUALS HDS skills training will be conducted in October 2023.
